Removing the global applications menus

I don’t like how Unity removes the menu from the top of my windows and puts them in the topbar. Here’s a way to get your windows top menus back.

In a terminal enter:

sudo apt-get remove indicator-appmenu appmenu-gtk3 appmenu-gtk appmenu-qt firefox-globalmenu thunderbird-globalmenu

Then log out and log back in and the applications menus should be back on the applications windows.

Note 1: Applications menus will still merge into the Unity top bar when you maximize their windows.

Note 2: HUD won’t search menus after doing this.
